We have all heard classic video game song for decades but only a few give us that rush that keeps us up for 28 hours straight with a solid death grip on the gaming controller.
YES!!! Super Metroid Theme, it wasnt the most speaker blasting music ever but it was official. With a sort of calm suttle feel the Super Metroid theme song was perfect for those nights you sat up staring into a dim lit TV screen. For any set of ears that this song runs through you then know its time to get in the game. Only a true gamer canunderstand the mission at hand.
4. Super Smash bros Brawl (main menu)
SUPER SMASH BROTHERRRRRRS!!!! Since the series debut on the ever so loved N64 we have been holding game stores at gunpoint for the continution of the series (well at least I did). We can all be honest and say that when you turn on SSBB and hear the opera music you know its the returned of the SSB battle crew. It gives more more of a “welcome back warrior” feel as you crack your knucles ready to dive into endless chaos!!!!
Now everyone knows that Mike Tyson Punchout is classic among many boxing games, but of all of them Punchout had the best music. What music, you ask?!?!? There is only 1 song I’m talking about. Yes thats right, the mid-game, pink jogging suit workout song. If you can get your focus off of the cute jumpsuit and listen, you will hear a song that only a coach will play as he makes you chase him on a bike for what seemed like hours.
As you know, I could not talk about game music without Zelda. I mean c’mon what other game had you rushing home after school with a heart rate of 300 bpm. The main Zelda theme doesn’t jump out at you, it mentors you as the young ward you are. As this clasic theme runs a series through your ears it whispers…..this is your destiny (fade out).
WAAAAAAAAT not Mario?!?!? While Mario is the most memorable, it’s more catchy than GET-READY and that’s why GoldenEye has the #1 spot on this list. Now it’s not the title music O_o??? Yeah I know what you’re thinking: THEN WHAT IS IT?!?!?! Duh. The main menu and character select screen. Its the type of music you load a gun to….a Nintendo gun that is. This theme really makes you feel like a secret agent!

You know what makes me wanna kick ass?
The smooth jazz stylings of Marvel vs Capcom 2. Or the gangsta rap of Street Fighter 3: Third Strike.

The Character Select music from Marvel v Capcom 2 is quite amazing.
