Anyone who has been following Lost since day one wanna throw around some theories as to WTF is happining?

Come one David, I'm looking at your Dharma Swan Avatar.  Speak up.

It totally has to be Des.  Last we saw, he named his kid Charlie, and then he gets to live happily every after?  I think not.  Especially with papa Widmore riding around in his u-boat.

Roger and Ben got to L.A. on the sub when they were letting people leave maybe?  I would wager that the illness is Jughead related.  Also, Since Mama Rosso never crashed on the island, she could have made it america to be a crazy french lady and raise Alex easy enough.

I think the island is all sorts of broken, and wont be unfindable until they get someone to replace Jacob, and restore the balance.  My odds on fav for replacment of Jacob is Jack.  Especially since is is all gung ho on killing himself everytime something doesn't go his way.  He is so far gone now, thinking the island is the only purpose he has. 

My big question is Why L.A.-verse?  What is the point of a big What-if plot.  That is the kind of thing left to Fan-fic, not prime time TV.  I dont think LOST will take the cop-out and just make it a series of "what ifs."  There has to be a point to it all.  But honestly, at this point, they could say it was all an aliens play ground and I would go with it.  I just want some damn answers.
