Splinter Cell lovers can now rest at night, because Ubisoft has given an official release date for its newest gem: Splinter Cell: Conviction.
After being delayed in January, the developers have given a new launch date: April, 13 2010.
I hope Ubisoft can hold up to their end of the deal this time around. Otherwise, I guarantee, there will be a plethora of fired up Sam Fisher fans. Speaking of ol’ Mr. Fisher, I hope he can snap necks like he use to. Given that all the Splinter Cells have been chronological. Maybe there are new add-ons in game, like taking a back pill or checking blood pressure. Maybe Sam will have bi-focals on that cool little NVG headset thingy he wears? Just kidding, he can’t be that old!
Whatever the physical condition of the protagonist, animation looks good so far and players are sure to be in for a treat. As far as Ubisofts decision to push the release date back, I am reminded of what a Blizzard exec once said: “I would rather be known for pushing back release dates, than making bad games”.
