Nintendo’s Media Summit was short on surprises, but full of dates. Yesterday, it was unofficially confirmed that Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M would be on stores shelves this summer. The Summit actually confirmed it. Super Mario Galaxy will be on shelves May 23, while Metroid: Other M will hit on June 27. But that wasn’t all….
Sin & Punishment 2, now subtitled Star Successor (very nice), had long gone without a release date, but will actually be in stores on June 7. While Monster Hunter 3 hit stores on April 20.
Capcom also announced plans for Monster Hunter 3. First off, there will be no online fees to play. But this may mean, friend codes galore. Preordering the game at Gamestop will net owners 500 Nintendo Points for the WiiWare or DSiWare. There will be the standalone game and the Classic Controller Pro bundle at $59.99. And yet there are no signs of a black Wii in North America.
On the WiiWare: Cave Story finally got a date, March 22. Rage of the Gladiator, FlingSmash, Super Meat Boy, and And Yet It Moves are slated sometime between spring and summer.
Other news included the release date of the DSi XL: March 28 for $189.99. WarioWare: DIY is set to be released in the DSiWare on March 22. Picross 3D will hit stores on May 3. Dragon Quest IX will come stateside sometime during the summer.
A whole lot of Wii and DS games before July. Yikes. Now would be a good time to buy and play some Wii games out now before they become forgotten. Like No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle.
