Rebellion “Working flat-out” to fix AVP demo

As many of you may or may not know, the multiplayer demo for Aliens Vs Predator released on Feb 4, has suffered some major technical issues.

When searching for games, players were unable to join unless they had eight other online friends who had also downloaded the demo. As you could guess, this didn’t sit too well with many AVP fanboys (this writer included). After taking the time to download all the content, gamers were quick to join a search for a “quick match,” but many found no one to play with. Strange, considering the amount of people who were certainly trying?

Rebellion was quick to release a statement today about the issues concerning the demo. They explained there was a high amount of people trying unsuccessfully to connect on the PC version, and with a quick patch the issue was fixed. So what about the 360 and PS3 versions? Well, the 360 has had no problems (of course) but they did comment on the PS3 saying they are “investigating reports of a similar nature on the PlayStation 3 and working flat out on a solution”.

“We’re really sorry that this issue tainted a day in which we saw many people get hands on with AvP for the first time and we’re hugely gratified by the positive feedback to the game”, Rebellion said.

All I can tell you hungry AVP folks out there who are having problems, is to sit tight, because it seems Rebellion has definitely taken notice of this demos importance.

I’d been wondering what was up. I tried it on PS3 last night and again this morning, and no luck. Glad to know it’s not a problem with my system.
