Sonic 4 has just been revealed for Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 download services. It will be episodic, with the first episode becoming available this summer. The game is 2.5D and looks a little barren at the moment- but much better than the hedgehog’s other console outings since his heyday on the Genesis. Sorry Sonic Adventure fans, those games just didn’t do it for me.

This will definitely be a hit with the pre-teen / teen crowds. I wonder if old people who like Wii Tennis will be able to handle a spinning hedgehog though.
Actually, I think the goal of this one was to attract older fans who had played it on the Sega Genesis as kids, hence the 4 in the title and retro enemies and locales. If it can also attract preteens then good for them, that will only mean more sales.
It better appeal to me…I miss the real Sonic.
