Nintendo just may be the most schizophrenic of all the game publishers. They tout ‘games’ Wii Fit Plus, Wii Play, and Nintendogs, driving hardcore gamers in a frenzy. The success of the Wii drives others crazy due to its lack of graphical horsepower that can put in on par with other machines. The release of Super Mario Kart is Nintendo at it’s best: giving the fans a chance to play some of their best works.
More than fifteen years, this game is still amazing. The course design, tight controls, and variety still holds up and it contains the magic sorely missing from Mario Kart Wii: ‘one more game’. In multiplayer, this mantra will be going through your head repeatedly. Around this time, if you’re spending time with family or other friends during the cold winter, this is the game that will bring people closer together just to get ‘one more game’.

why don’t they feature Yoshi on the cover? Where’s the dino love…!?! maybe it’s b/c he’s fast but the hardest to control…still the coolest tho.
Meh…I’m a huge MK fan, and I DO enjoy this game, but MKWii is my favorite, hands-down. Mario Kart Wii is all about “one more game” for me. This isn’t. I’ve been replaying it and often feel tired out of it after a handful of tracks. I can play MK Wii for an hour or two straight and generally, that’s how I play it, just like Smash Bros.
Definitely a solid game, though, and a great start to one of my favorite franchises.
